Greg, perhaps I should have asked earlier, but do you have any detail shots of where they put the seam on your quarter panel and rocker?

It already looks great, by the way!

They're telling me Tuesday next week, so YES!!! I'll PM you my cell # and email, I'd love to show it off

As for the repair, State Farm (the other driver's insurance) has been great. They did not total the car and so I didn't have to buy it back. The initial estimate was for $6,500 and then the shop supplemented that with another $2,600, so a total of $9,100. I'm still amazed and thankful they actually signed off on that rather than total it. The insurance is paying for painting the front bumper, front fender, door, rear quarter and the rear bumper. I'm paying the shop another $3,000 to paint the rest of the car...which is what I paid for the car 6 years ago!

Sorry man, I don't think so. It was a brand new quarter panel from Porsche. Amazing one can still get new sheet metal for these old cars and amazing that the insurance paid for it. The shop had recently done Rdanford's summer yellow 951 but had to use a used quarter, they kept talking about how much easier it was to be working with a new piece.

Duly noted. I look forward to seeing photos of it when it's finished!

Greg, as a fellow 951 owner that refused to give up after a catastrophe, I just want to say that it really makes me happy to see that your car is coming along nicely. I know first-hand how heart-rending something like this can be. Your car looks great and I'm excited to see your finished product.

PennyWise, that is EXACTLY what I had been looking for! I couldn't believe how hard those were to find! If you have any other photos of the process, I'd love to see them, as well.

Three of the wheels were broken (literally). I took the money and parlayed that into a new set of 18" Turbo Twist II's, 8's in front and 10's in back, along with new tires, 225/40/18 and 265/35/18. They're real perty :-)

Nice to see the progress! Our cars are going to be twins, minus your gorgeous interior of course!
