Camshaft housing pictures
As I said in another thread, I'm having head gasket replace, and maybe springs and so on. While at it, I've seen lot of nice repainted camshaft here on rennlist.
I was thinking just going black, with the PORSCHE script silver Polish.
But before I proceed, I would like to see your pictures. Please!

In my experience I have found that the powder coating looks great…for a while. Then it deteriorates. Powder coating is a plastic based finish and it is not very good at high heat and solvent rich conditions. Some cleaners will attack it and discolor and even dissolve the finish.
Paint can have the same issues.
Polishing can always be touched up and a satin finish is even easier to keep in good shape.

I just did it on the Cam Tower (PC) that is
The rest of the stuff I polished and sealed with Zoop Seal
Do you think the cam tower at the top there will hold up ?

It also makes it more difficult when you start with an aluminum part that has been oil soaked for 25 years!
