Default Previous Owners 99' Cobra

Went out for a fun country drive this morning with the PO and his modified 99' Cobra. After leaving the house we went froma third gear roll and I walked him. He is not as aggressive as I am so when driving his car later I gave it all she had and he drilled his own car driving mine

I did enjoy driving his car...the steering was good and the brakes were excellent. The car was WAY loud though. It was lowered a bit too much as i popped the bump stops once and kinda unsettled the car!

not at all surprising. 99 and 01' cobras were rather... well, slobras. little faster than the GTs, little slower than the Mach1, which in turn was a bit slower than an ls f-body.

Terminators (03, 04) on the other hand... probably one of the only few mustangs i wouldn't mind owning.

what mods did he have by the way? and what mods for you?

I agree whole heartedly with onspeed. I would love to have a Terminator. Prices are still high though...and it's still a Ford...

Nice kill!

As mentioned the 03+ are monsters! And like our cars, with just a few mods/flash they get even more sick. lol

heck he loves the 951 and was expecting it to win...he's proud of it! We went out and drove some back roads and twisties, it was all about having fun. He'll need to give it just a little more ride height. I enjoyed driving it and it handled a lot better than I expected (rear IRS).

Two things I really missed when driving his:

1. Driving position (I now understand exactly what everyone's been talking about)! My 951 is one of the few cars that I keep the seat fairly far forward...yet the clutch is exactly where I want it. More importantly the steering wheel AND gear shifter are PERFECT!

2. My sport seats...haha I was hoping his door didn't pop open as i was squeezed up against it on right handers!

The terminators are nice, but what i really want is an '11 GT. Not much negative to say about Ford these days...

The '11 is nice, that's true. But it's going to be just like every other Mustang GT before it - everyone an their mom will own one.

Plus i'm tempted to say the terminator is faster stock, and can be modded easier.. although I'm not 100% on that...

The new GT is crazy good deal for the performance. But every soccer mom that thinks she is still bad *** will have one, lol. Soccer moms with over 400hp????

Yes, the 03+ were UNDER rated at 390 crank but most right from the dealership were dynoed at about 370 whp. So that would put it a little over the new GT. However, the 03+ being forced induction it is MUCH easier to make big gains cheap and easy. And they were supposedly very restricted from the factory. Exhaust, pulley and re flash = 75-100hp.

New mustang has an amazing engine. The rest of it doesn't interest me.
This is the part where someone posts the comparison between it and the M3 isn't it...

The terminators are cool for the usual straight line stuff.

Too bad Mustang owners act like well.. Mustang owners.

Oh yeah, i think the Terminators were still faster than the '11's. I just mean that overall (build quality, interior, exterior styling) i'd probably take an '11 over an '03-04.
