Default short stroke?

has anyone shortened the stroke on our engines? i know it costs mucho $$ so no need to start the "it costs way to much, just keep the 2.5l 8v" bs. i was reading this forum and was wondering if its been done before to the 944/68. our engines are over square engines right?

2.5 engine is 100mm bore 78.9mm stroke - way over square.

de-stroked...interesting. I've done it on small block Chevy's (400 block/350 crank). Big bore/short stroke.
