So which jackstands are the best ones? Top notch?

Its true, they will not support the weight of a complete car. Maybe for a little while…
The frame rail will ‘squish’ if you use a small contact area. Typically they get squashed when jacking not from being supported afterwards. If you make up a small square of good plywood (at least ½”, ¾” is better) that is 6” x 6” to spread the load you will not have a problem.
If you use a floor jack then jack it up by the correct point midway down the rocker panel.

Harbor freight has some 12 ton jack stands that give you quite a bit of working room.

Yep. Safe, solid, easy to get to jack stand point.

Anything up front scares me, stability is a bit narrow for my likes. I have new 968 castors so those have become my jack stand points, used very carefully.

I still keep the floor jack under the mid-sill lift point.

Just be careful where you put them what kind of jack will you be using(Floor?
