The tale of two 951's (Dyno parameters need some help)
I am about to run both of my cars on the same dyno using the same parameters, rpm, gear duration, boost etc.
One car is an unmodified stock 89 (except autothority chip).
Other is completly rebuit with mods, Vitesse S2R etc.
Since I don't do this often, would like to know what the best way to get a good representation of the full power ban of the car from down low upwards?
Since both are still in street guise I am more concerned with usable power around town and moderate highway, not that concerned with the numbers that will move the car over 160mph.
The main things looking to compare boost, Hp and torque curves.
Thanks in advance!

So far that's the only advice I've gotten from this thread! I am interested in this thread as i have never had a dyno run on any of my vehicles...
And, I have an appointment 11am next Tuesday! I've never even seen one in person. Heck, I really don't know what to expect!!!

Start logging at 2k RPM, then put the gas flat to the floor (WOT) and let the RPMs go all the way up to red line. Obviously, do both cars in the same gear - probably 4th.
Make sure boost and AFR are logged. You should have fun comparing the charts.

3k is slightly late - just sayin' from a tiny bit of experience.

a couple good responses...I hope that's what you were looking for rop3.
That makes sense, myself I just want to do a pull and see my A/FR's and of course power If the A/FR's are good I'll dial up a little more boost for the second pull.
Thanks for posting!

Hey those look like nicely recovered sport seats!
Just waiting for the data logs from my VFLEX to ensure the settings are correct and all is optimized. Then off to the Dyno.
I am looking to get boost, A/FR's, HP, Torque but most important factors for me are:
Torque in regard to the increase and how it is spread, with the new kit installed.
Early spool up and the longevity of the spoolup compared over (stock).
Lastly HP same as above what the increase and spread/range is.
After the dyno runs I just picked up a new GTECH pro RR. Never used one but apparently it can calculate TQ/HP based on the weights of the cars also 0-60. End lastly any rolling speeds say 30-60 etc.
As for my newly rebuilt car, moderate displacement increase, entire rebuilt drivetrain from 951S, right down to harnesses, sensors etc. no expense spared. While much of this may not contribute to more power, the internals were lightened/strengthened, bigger intercooler, 3' fabspeed no cat. some of the later should give an advantage alone.
Lastly the full Vitesse S2 kit.
The other car is completely stock exhaust/motor etc. except for a $350 chip.
So needless to say I am expecting a lot, Should be very interesting! It's been a long time in the works.
