1989 944 turbo - considering going to a new engine management system to get rid of the brittle 21 year old engine harness, to tidy up the engine bay and to aid in tuning for 3XXrwhp with a larger turbo, etc.
Does anyone build plug-N-play harnesses for these cars and if so who's ECU are they designed around?
Option #2 would be to buy a new Porsche engine harness (cost ??) and use the Vitesse piggyback.

I think the Link EMU has a harness option for the 951. CEP does customization with the Link system: http://www.customengineeredperformance.com/aboutus.html
Chris White works with tec3 if I'm correct, and could help you out:

To use the existing DME/KLR:
Option 1: Buy individual harness components, eg fuel injector leads, etc from Lindsey Racing and splice into your existing harness at or near the DME/KLR;
Option 2: Buy the wiring, Bosch terminals and connectors from kayjayco.com and/or eagleday.com. This is not as difficult as it may seem, given access to the right parts, a good crimper (which kayjayco sells), and patience;
Option 3. I remember someone on this list offering completely rewired engine harnesses. I suspect whoever wires things up for LR is the guy. Maybe somebody on the list can fill in this blank;
Option 4. Sunset Porsche used to have them for about $1800;
Option 5. Ebay, Parts Heaven in Hayward, CA, or Lart on this board.
Good luck!

I have been setting up Electromotive EMS for 944s for about a decade. I have added Haltech to the EMS options as well. Both come with a 'plug and play' harness that uses a Porsche factory plug connector to retain the factory gauges (except boost) and all factory functions. Connect it to the battery and one other wire and you are set to go.
Feel free to call if you have any questions – 315-639-8716
And if you decide to keep to the DME based system you can’t do better than Vitesse – his support is excellent and customer support is the most important part of any EMS mod!
