Camshaft Adjustment - Anybody advancing to improve Spool up ?
I've heard that advancing the camshaft timing will move the power band down and help turbo spool- is anyone using an adjustable camshaft sprocket (advanced) to improve spool up of the turbo ? I've driven a car where the owner advanced the stock camshaft gear one tooth - it definately felt stronger off idle and came on boost very quickly.

Advancing the cam on a 944 yields incredible results - one of the most effective engines to do this to.
You are safe to 4 degrees at .5 " lift - that much I can say from experience.
However, you should (I am sure you know) have some means to monitor (and tune) ignition timing and afr.
A few degrees valve advance even with a stock turbo at full load in 5th gear on the highway, and your engine will not be happy with you given stock tune.
You may PM me, if you need more information.

To add, yes, there are a few vendors making and selling adjustable timing gears, BUT as said already, you will need means to fully tune the motor to get the best results!
