Default Lindsey Racing 944T 270 RWHP KIT.

I'm seriously thinking about going with the 944T 270 RWHP KIT from LR.

Anyone have this or the 300 RWHP Kit installed without the MAF upgrade?

Or should I just get the 3" exhaust and save up for Vitesse MAF and chip kit?

Is your car stock currently? The biggest gains to be had with the stock AFM setup is chips/exhaust or test pipe/ and a wastegate.

I'd say the 'best' use of money would be MAF / wastegate / and get someone to build an exhaust locally.

Mine is bone stock so I was thinking with a 24 year old cat and muffler it might help to uncork it - it always did wonders for my Starions and GSX/Talons. I'd rather go with custom made vs. trying to deal with a local shop for anything outside of normal maintenance - less aggravation and I'm not from here so I don't know of any local "tuner" shops.

their kit makes sense...though you can piece together some of that regardless.

Instead of the boost enhancer and wastegate shims maybe go for a DP wastegate and a manual boost controller (just don't get greedy)

3bar FPR

get a real boost gauge

uncorking the exhaust..yes.

I like their chips...

Actually now that i think about it I just pulled their LR/Max chip burned for just such a combo. I'll have to search to see what people usually ask for them? Made for a stock turbo with typical upgrades and exhaust.

My car ran very hard with the above mods and a cat delete with 2 1/2" exhaust.

Racer, if you have the LR/Max chip for that kit, then that'll get me headed in the right direction. Let me know what you find out.

I was actually thinking along those lines, too, with respect to the wastegate but I might have to avoid an MBC. I've had bad experiences with them spiking on Mitsu's but that might have been a quality issue, too.

for sure their are many..no, most on here that are better for advice than me on this board.

The chipset was bought by the PO (a great friend) and with his name you can find out exactly how it was burned from LR.

$150 is half price. Let me know if your interested as it just dawned on me that i should post them for sale. They were just pulled from the car last week after a turbo upgrade.

I ran the car at 17#'s boost on the stock turbo almost all year and the PO raced with it for a year at that boost. however most on this board including Dave Lindsey will suggest lower boost (too high back pressure). I finally popped the headgasket (alright I admit..it was more like 18#'s..haha!) after all that time. It was the typical #4 cylinder which may or may not have a hot spot (had a LR steam vent kit installed since then).

Have fun with your car as it looks like you've had some other fun rides! Take it to a time trial and you'll really fall in love with it! The local PCA club will welcome you to one of their TT's or an autocross (choose a larger course for your car!).

Racer, I'll take the chips off of you, PM the details on how to pay you! I won't go much higher than stock boost or whatever the exhaust gives me with less back pressure.

I think the PCA President for this area is just south of me in Findlay and has a shop down there, Autobahn Garage. I should probably take off early from work and stop by to chat with him assuming I stay in OH and don't move back west to WA.

Do a search here in the turbo forum...you will find lots of reviews on everything of theirs (products and services). It's your job to make a decision on your own after that. There are many that go from 1 to a 10.

looks like derek is buying my LR chipset...will be a great start! With a test pipe, a decent wastegate, 3 bar FPR and a little more boost your car will come alive.

I know Dave Lindsey said it would be a great idea to install a gauge to keep tabs on backpressure when running the stock turbo.

I'm also fortunate in that the PO installed an LSD!
