Lindsey afm chips and k27/8 turbo. First impressions
Over the weekend, I installed a k27/8 turbo, tail wastegate, Lindsey racing afm chips, and a silicone 3" intake boot. Previous modifications were a 3 bar fpr, 2.5" test pipe, borla xr-1 muffler and an autothority chip set.
At first startup the car idled much smoother than it did with the autothority chips. Off boost, the throttle response improved greatly. Boost is set to 16psi, and it comes on strong between 3200-3500 rpm.
It's been a year or so since I've had a k26/8, but I barely notice any difference in lag compared to a k27/8. I'm not sure how much power I'm making, I'd love to crank it up to 18-20 psi once I install the wide band afr gauge and smt-6 I have lying around. This is a great setup for a daily driver, I like it a lot more than the super 75 I have on my other 951.

nice to hear...your up and rolling! Obviously from your earlier post I didn't have a clue on vacuum routing for the Tial (opposite!). Sounds like your happy with the mid range which can sure make these cars fun! Good job.
I know we have some similarities...stock AFM with the LR 3" J boot and limited exhaust. I'm also afraid to crank it up as I don't know where my A/F is either.
You may have saw that I had a vacuum/pressure leak and repairing that has helped my mid range a bunch. I'm ordering a silicone vacuum line kit tomorrow! I kept it at 16psi for now. If i can find a shop tomorrow I'll get a few dyno pulls in. Thinking of getting Lindsey's 4" steel exhaust with the bung welded in for the WB.
Have fun...and keep us posted!!!

I didn't want to hijack Lee's thread. I see that he has another big turbo 951..this one appears to be his DD!
And yes..agreed on the MAF.
Sounds like he's happy with the perfromance he has now..great!

5"??? Sick!!!
Do you think there is much differnce in going from 3" cat back to 4" cat back vs going full 3" turbo back?
I am thinking in velocity stack path here in stock down pipe, to 3" to cat area and then 4" rest of the way to 4"in/out muffler. ??

Nice. So you are running the 75 like I am. I assume the 23psi in on race gas?

Racerxrick, glad you got everything evened out, these cars run great with afms up to about 330-350 whp. I really don't see a huge difference in power between a 2.5" catless and a 3" catless, maybe it spools up a bit quicker, but I'm happy for now. I'll be cranking the boost up when I get the wideband and smt-6 up and running...
As for the super 75, mine has a number 8 hotside. One thing I should mention, is when you put the Lindsey #8 next to the Porsche #8, it's far larger. You could basically consider the Lindsey #8 a Porsche #10 hotside.
I was running my super 75 with an afm and chips, not the most efficient. I feel it's too laggy of a turbo for less than 400hp... I have the engine out of my other 951, so I'll be beefing up the internals, going to a Maf setup, and cranking that turbo to 30+psi.
But honestly speaking, for less than 800 bucks, I consider the afm chip/k27 upgrade the best bang for the buck. It's far more streetable than the super75, and I believe you still get 315-320whp with this setup.

When does the turbo start to spool? Is it a huge different from the k26/6 is it streetable or too laggy for a daily driver?
