Default Struts 944 turbo 1986 issues

Hi,

I'm having soem troubles replacing my struts. I have a 1986 turbo with offset 23

I bought a set which should 100% sure fit my 86........

Well it does not..

Can somebody tell me what is normal?

The distance between brackets of my old struts is 18mm. I am told by several people it should be 20mm on an early offset car. Also the distance between the bolt is 75mm not 70 as with the early offset cars.

But my thought was that the turbo always had the "newer" setup. So 18mm between brackets and 75mm end to end of holes?

Want to know if my car is ok, not that it is weird oe?
My old strut and the bilstein i bought but did not fit. You can see the difference i guess.

944 Turbo's should all be 18mm between the tabs. If your new struts are 20, it's a shock made to
fit a steel control arm early thru '85/1 944 NA.

From '86. Not really sure there is such a thing as a '85 turbo.

Technically there are, but the were sold as "86" models.

Does anybody have a 944 Turbo where the 10th didgit of the vin number is a "F"? If not, it's
an 86 which is a "G". We have never seen one.
