misfire/ cutting out on startup
My car had a bad morning. I went to start it up, same as always. It starts ok (takes 4-5 seconds of cranking). It seems to misfire and cut out for the first minute of driving. It all goes away after that. It will jerk the car when you first start driving. seems like a misfire or the fuel/ ignition cutting out. What can I check. Tonight, I will drive the car with the O2 sensor unhooked to see if that has anything to do with it. It is almost like the computer has to relearn how to run when it is cold. Though, sometimes when I start it back up like every time I go fill the tank up, it will bog and cut out right after startup. It is extremely embarrassing. I am leaning toward the injector wires and ignition stuff. The injectors are newer. I might have a very slight vacuum leak so I will check that again. I am going to get a throttle body rebuild kit. I am just stuck on what i should buy. I don't want to waste money on stuff that works fin as it is. Is there anything I can check inside the dme and klr? Another question is there any way i can tell how many pins the dme chip has without opening the dme?
What would you do or check?
thanks Rennlist.

I think I just replaced that. I will check to see if the pins are still in the connector. I had the problem before i installed the new one though. I will also check the dme pins count and pull out the smt6 wiring since I am not using it.

Hey Dillon, I rechecked the name of that temp. sensor - Fuel Injection temperture sensor. It tells the DME the engine is cold at start-up. This really sounds like your problem as described. Check out '944Online' for a diagram and part. Ian [the sponsor] says this is a common failure.
