Default Replacing head gasket--what else should I do?

I have everything out for a turbo and alt. rebuild and AOS reseal. I've decided to do the head gasket since I have a lot out of the way already. Car has 79k on it and was running fine other than a weak alt. and oily turbo. I doubt the head is warped, but I'll check that. My plan is to pull the head, assess its shape and address issues. My guess is that it will be in good shape and won't seem to need too much.

My question is: what should I do in terms of "while its out..." maintenance? Valve guides? Lap valve seats? New studs? LR steam vent kit? Nothing...slap a head gasket on it and go?

Your thoughts are appreciated.

Valve Guides are surely worn, stem seals might even be broken

A Valve job will improve power

Steam vent a good idea

If you don't know when it was last done, replace the oil cooler seals (much easier to replace w/ the headers out of the way and all of the fluids are already drained).

Wouldn't have thought of the cooler. Thanks.

Preferred source for guides and stems?

I'd be a bit surprised if the guides were worn at that mileage but the exhaust valve seals are probably kinda crunchy.

I'd get the injectors cleaned and new kits for them, DIY or send them out. You can cycle them with a 9v battery and get them pretty clean on your own, but sending them out is good value too.

Injectors are freshly cleaned by Witchunter. Onto pulling that stupid little 3mm retaining screw for the rotor. Someone ought to be shot with tacks.

Endless, yes, but realistic, no.
