looks pretty clear cut to me! I know I would not be happy if I was in the CRX however he could have also avoided it by giving room but easy to say online and not in the car!

Racing incident ......

The CRX had to give room and didn't, the 944 was to give room and didn't . If one is to lay blame , i would to the CRX driver. He did temp the situation by opening the door and shouting come on in ....

Not even close to a racing incident. A racing incident is where contact occurs which couldn't be avoided. IMO 944 was clearly at fault, not even close to claiming the corner, he punted the CRX by the rear wheel. The 944 clearly had more speed/power, he could easily overtake, there was no reason for contact. He was pulling the CRX many lengths on the straights, all he had to do was wait. If I were the CRX I would be fuming. I wouldn't want to be in the 944 in the future, he's a clear target for future pit maneuvers!

If I were the 944 driver I would be embarrassed not proud, having a much faster car and then punting off a much slower car, completely unnecessarry. I race PCA which has its own issues, I have often considered NASA, but if thats the mentality of the driving I'll stay away. If that's the way NASA is, you may as well just get a beater car and go out for a demolition Derby!

Have to agree with Richard. I don't think the 944 was anywhere near position to pass. "He Popped"??
What, he didn't take the exact same line and therefore I can go through your car on my line? Nope.

Rubbin is racing. i have to agree that 944 was much faster down the straight so all he had to do was wait and pass easily.

Interesting to hear both sides. IMHO it appears that the crx driver decided to go wide on the corner opening the door for an inside pass.

If the crx driver had been aware that there was a Porsche missle near him in the turn he would have followed the wide line that was established.

Just because the Porsche could have passed later doesn't mean he has to drive less aggressively at that moment. There was a clear opening and he went after it.

No, he didn't have to wait, but it was the smart thing to do. Why dive underneath someone when you just simply drive around them a little later? It's also rude and very stupid to wreck a fellow racer.

This is amateur racing, there is no $$ prize and Mclaren isn't going to come knocking on your door if you "win".

This is the point that I think many club racers/amateurs loose sight of. We're doing this for fun and sure, it's competitive and that's part of the fun, but you have to draw the line. That line is doing something blatantly stupid that takes out another car. There's simply no reason for it, particularly when there's such a large speed differential between the two cars.

Yep,

Doc summed it up. It costs a lot of money to prepare a car and then race a car. Few amateur racers have sponsors. Unnecessarry contact is just dumb. Like I say, I wouldn't be surprised if the 944 isn't a target for retribution in the future.

Being proud of the move makes it even more distatseful in my mind.

Had it been two similar performance cars, battling for many laps, and then a get together would have been a different story, but the 944 was so much faster, it was ridiculous.
