Hey,
I need to disarm my airbags so my kids can ride in my 89' 951. Who has the play by play for me? Thanks for the Help!! I don't want 20 year old air bags!!!

Disconnect the airbags at the wheel and dash. Then unplug the airbag controller. Take the plug on the car side of the harness and use a wire to jumper pins 3 and 4. That will allow the fuel pump to run. Then secure the wire in the plug, and the plug under the dash. No airbags and no warning.

Be sure to wait about 30 min after disconnecting the battery for the capacitor in the airbag controller to dissipate. Don't want them going boom in your face.
