Default homemade expansion cap tester??

Has anyone made a expansion cap tester?
Would like to see some pictures of it in that case
I´m having some leaks that i can´t find, only thing i see is the water on the floor after the car has been in the garage for the night.
Seems that it only leaks when the engine is warm and after shutdown.

i´m suspecting the heater valve but also the water pump seal

I bought a cheap one at Princess Auto for like $25. Comes with a hand pump as well.

Princess Auto is the same idea as Harbor Freight.

If you have not already pressure tested the system with a stant or similar kit, I'd do that before anything else. It does have a cap tester, but as importantly, it will tell you if you have any leaks other than overflow. Might want to also route the overflow hose to a catch bottle in the meantime, to see if this is overflow (e.g., overfilled, needs to be vented, bad cap, bad HG) or an external leak.

I had problems with overflow but changed the cap to a 2 bar cap and now it seems to leak somewhere else.

I don´t think it´s the headgasket because there is no exhaust or e85 smell in the coolant like last year and corleone thinks it hot spots i the head.

i think the heater valve needs to be changed but it can be something more.

I need to fix all leaks and then try to diagnosis the problem.

I´m really getting tired with the coolant problem, it seems to follow me year efter year

I higher pressure cap will help find the next weakest point. Ask me how I know. Sounds like a pressure tester would help you. If you want the check the system pressure, you can always T into the skinny line going to the coolant tank and install a gauge or sender.

Princess Auto sounds so, so pretty.

Your local part's store should rent you a coolant pressure testing kit for free (you buy and get your money back when you return it). That kit will include a tester for the cap too.

I actually just stopped by Autozone and did just that ... looks like a pretty nice tester too ($75 retail).
