Dude, I have seen your fuel lines. Please do them first before you wind up with a "my car went up in flames" post. Please.

Travis (Rennbay) has fuel lines that are good and as inexpensive as you will find. He's a good guy, you'll like dealing with him, I'd highly recommend you place an order with him.

Boost can wait.

Will do the fuel lines just to be on the safe side.

Now what about this whole deal with blink codes. I made the tester the other day. I plugged it in turned the key about ready to start it and it was solid lit. I started the car and the light went out. I went for a drive and came home I didn't see it blink at all for 30 second-1 minute. Is that how you check the codes?

I looked at that. Do I need to plug it after my test drive while the engine is still running or can I just leave it plugged in the whole time?

You can leave it plugged in all the time. In fact, I have a light permanently plugged in and on my dashboard.

I'm just curious could I buy a Boost gauge at say Advance auto parts hook it up and just run it out the hood and see what that reads. This would not be permanent. I would just use it for diagnostic purposes and then maybe later install it inside the cab.

Better than running it out the hood: You could insert a Tee into the hard nylon tube that goes into your KLR. That's under the carpet in the passenger footwell. Then run a vacuum hose to your temporary boost guage mounted conveniently inside the car.

Just wanted to update this a little bit. I noticed today that my car is not slow, but a little more sluggish. In 5th gear I can get it to boost up to 1.5 bars vs. the normal 1.4 bar that I have been getting. I think this may just be a vacuum leak which is a problem, but could this be something else like the cycling valve or the wastegate?

Stock boost gauge reads in absolute pressure, psia not gauge pressure, psig.

PSIG is the pressure read from a guage which reads the difference between the pressure in the pipe and the pressure of the atmosphere. PSIA is the total pressure including the pressure of the atmosphere.

Is that right? Just wanting to make sure as I have a new to me diverter valve. It is a Forge one. Just making sure its working properly. The car seems to run a little better than it has been lately after replacing that. Seems to pull harder.
86-88 non turbo S will have slightly boost drop, but not to 1.2 or even less.
88 turbo S to 91 model doesnt have boost drop. But your boost seems much less than normal, its should be 1.8 (0.8 bar) bar for 100% factory setting
