Default Vacuum Lines

I see these kits at places and they are all like $100. I have a 1986 944 Turbo. Someone has told me that you can find this vacuum line at auto part stores for much much cheaper. Is that true? Also what about the venturi delete is that a few vacuum lines that you delete or is a lot what?

Lindsey Racing sells a silicone vacuum line kit for ~$35 last time I checked. The venturi delete removes a mess of vacuum hoses and venturis under the intake manifold.

So for the venturi delete do I just need that $35 kit or something else?

Venturi delete kit requires more than just their standard vac line kit. I believe they sell a "venture delete" kit. Go surf their website www.lindseyracing.com or www.paragon-products.com. Not sure if paragon sells a kit tho.

It looks like the venturi delete kit is like $70 something bucks and then you need vacuum tubing as well.

The full venturi delete kit is going to run you about $150-200

You need the following hoses:
ISV to Intercooler pipe: 951.110.217.01
ISV to Intake: 951.110.221.00
Brake Booster to Intake: 951.110.223.01
AOS to J-boot plus the check valve 944.107.311.03 and 944.107.324.00
20' or so of 5/32" rubber vacuum line (any auto parts store)
2-3 T fittings.
Misc rubber hose and clamps for the CV and such if you are keeping that.

944-107-311-03 is not a 944 turbo hose. It's the S2. We offer the 951 hose
now as a replacement in silicone.

PorscheDoc it looks like you have quite a few more parts on your list than are included in many of the venturi delete kits.

Is it a good idea to keep the Cycling Valve or replace it with something else? I might eventually want some more performance would the cycling valve not allow that?

I guess while you have the intake manifold off you should change the AOS seals as well?

The cycling valve is the factory boost control device. If later down the road you plan on installing a manual or electric boost controller, you will bypass it. If you are stock, then you need it for the time being.

The AOS is a pain. I did mine when I pulled the turbo.

Someone can feel free to correct me, but I believe you have to pull the turbo to get to the third bolt on the AOS.

Can you bypass the cycling valve without having to to take the intake manifold off again?

http://www.lindseyracing.com/LR/Pors...A-VDK-VHK.html

Would this kit be a good idea to buy? It looks good and I think it should over almost all of my hoses.

Thats the tutorial I will be using. Does anyone know about how long this will take for me to do?

Any other pieces I will need.

I made my own venturi delete out of a bunch or random vac lines I had from other cars. Cost was next to nothing. I'm sure you could go to a junkyard and make something out of random lines from different vehicles for <$20.

I hate to say this, but I would like to use this kit just because it comes with the gaskets and the hoses that I need. I don't want to be messing around not having a hose or something when I'm trying to finish up this project. This car is my daily driver so I have just the weekend to do projects like this.
