These numbers aren't unique to our setup, they're typical.
BTW: the REALLLY FAST cars, (the Ford GT's and Gallardos that knock on 250 mph) are all making 1400~2000 hp at an astounding 50-65 pounds boost, with progressive boost controllers that increase boost as road speed increases to combat wheel spin before the car gets to ""The Big End" of the track.
Wheel spin from power or from rear end lift due to the speeds?

Yea, the "Big Dogs" as the Texas mile make some crazy power.

I have followed Eddie Bello for years now and his 94 911 is in the 1,000-1,200whp range. SICK!!!!!! lol

And I think that is at 55-60psi!!!!!

Yea, bigger wheels are much easier to adjust than gearbox

And with 275/40 18 and 7070rpm = 200

Be careful of indicated speed vs actual speed... At Watkins Glen, I indicate in the 150s, although my highest actual speed (GPS) is high 130s. I'd say it's off by about 10%. If I indicated 194 MPH (I'd need a rocket booster), it would actually be about 175 - which, as it turns out, is about what I'd expect! Wasn't the factory spec on the Turbo S 168 MPH?

The previous owner of my car (long ago) raced in open road racing in Nevada.

He averaged 139mph through the course and on one of the straights with radar clocking on it, it was clocked at 179mp

Unfortunately, the radar results arent posted on line.

The results are here:

http://www.openroadracing.com/html/results2003.html

Then go to 1997 results. Then on the Grand Sport page line 56.

That is with 245/40/17 tires and I suspect above the 6400rpm of the factory rev limiter.

I only saw the printouts of the race (i think I have them somewhere) and not the actual race. But I have no reason to disbelieve the mph he told me.

Not from my experience running a standing mile with a Vitesse stage3 and all supporting mods.

I ran faster on the salt with a 26/6 and factory AFM at the 2.25 mile mark.

Make no mistake the Stage3 was night and day faster, but a mile is just not long enough to get it there

It's wheel spin from power.
We make 250~300 rwhp (varies with nitrous amount) on a dynojet dyno pushing a 400 pound bike with rider (roughly 600 pounds total depending on which one of us is riding that particular pass).
The fastest class bikes make ~600 rwhp, Tom Gates ran a 261 mph pass last March, the fastest vehicle of any kind, faster than the fastest car by 11 mph.

Jet car ran over 300MPH, so not "fastest vehicle of any kind"

Donald Campbell set the land speed record at over 400mph on Lake Eyre in 1964.

In 1997, the first supersonic land speed record was set by Andy Green in the Black Rock Desert, over 760mph.

This guy is working on breaking 1000mph...

no disrespect at all - In a standing mile, 200+ is absolutely insane IN A CAR.
But on a bike...... you indisputably have a monster pair swinging.

From another thread sounds like you are shooting for 200 at Tx mile - good luck man!!

Yeah, I don't get your wheel spin theory.
My understanding would be that any kind of wheel spin (basically loss of traction) at that speed would send your car into the bushes and doing a few tumbles for good measure.

There's no way.
If you're running close to stock tire diameters, and definitely assuming stock gearbox, you're going to be approaching 6,500 rpm in 5th.

At about what speed do you notice the wing come into the equation?
