Bought a FPCV from Lindsey - it came with 3 washers. 2 thinner washers are the same and 1 fatter only fits on one side.

Is (1) just an extra or will this be needed/obvious once I remove the current one.

It will be obvious. The end with the one ring screws into the pump so only needs one. The other end has a banjo that goes on it, with a cap that threads on. One crush washer on either side of the banjo bolt.

Im guessing the one for the mercedes pump (LR HV pump # 0 580 254 942) has a different check valve....

I asked this and they said it was the same, got it apart and they are different. Just thought I would post this in case anyone wonders the same thing...
