Default Bad NEW Clutch Slave Cylinder?

Has anyone had a new out of box slave cylinder? I replaced that in december during other work, and when finished last month , the pedal would not come up, so i replaced the master clutch cylinder. Pedal still will not come up. Fluid pumps out of the slave, but the clutch rod does not move, and the pedal won't stay up.

I used a power bleeder with the old master and it didn't help, don't have access to one at the moment for this system but I'm gettng fluid to pump out of the slave (presumably the master is doing this, where before replacing the master it would not).

Is the best bet to buy another slave?

One more point, this car has sat 12 years since presumably its last been driven. What would happen if the clutch hydraulic system was in good working order but if say the clutch disc was rusted to the flywheel? Id assume the pedal would still stay up correctly, right?

replace the line between slave and master, there's a rubber section that can go bad. I went with the braided stainless -3an replacement... there's a thread on here with the parts list.

on my '86 the line from the master to slave is actually 2 seperate lines iirc. there should be a fitting to connect them. some air was getting trapped around there in my case

when you replace both, it takes many times to get it to work good without a power bleeder. I had to bleed mine atleast 10 times.

My clutch acted the same way with a new master & slave cylinder & line between. I had used a Motive bleader at 10 lbs. I blead it again at 20 lbs and got alot of air. It is now ok.

I did replace the line in between as well. I don't really trust this slave, as soon as i loosen the bleeder at all it is pretty wobbly, I feel it is letting air in around the bleeder when I try to bleed it, but don't know for sure. Maybe I'll put this slave back on and try the power bleeder once tomorrow before ordering another slave :/
