Default It's no 951, but look at my new toy...

A 1990 spec miata. car came with...

1. 33 tires, mixture of Toyo RA1's and R888's, some of the RA1's are shaved to slicks.
2. 20 wheels, team dynamics, 949racing, Kosei, BBS (factory, for sale if anyone is interested )
3. Traqmate Data Aquisition system
4. 24' enclosed trailer
5. And tons of other parts....way too many to list.
6. All for $15,000

If anybody on here races spec miata by any chance, I hope to see you out there. As for my 951 race car, it no longer has a motor (its in my street toy), and we plan to put a 289 or some other v8 with a carbeurator in it. That project is way down the road though...

Happy Motoring,
Adam

Looks like fun, sometimes I think I should have gone that route years ago...

That can’t be a real spec Miata – there aren’t any dents or tire marks…

I kid! You will have a blast with that thing.

Besides stiffer suspension and weight savings what are the differences between a regular Miata and a Spec Miata?

The same differences there are between a road car and a race car

Awesome - looks like a smokin' deal

If I ever get back into racing, I'm pretty sure SM will be at the top of my list. $15k for a complete package... damn.... that's awesome.

Thanks everyone. it's loads of fun on the track, and unlike my old 951 race car, it doesnt break every time I hit the gas too hard.

And one of the main reasons I'm starting. My old 951 race car would have been in the SCCA Super Unlimited class, and we didn't have the money to put toward the car to make it competitive. But in spec miata, it doesn't matter if you have $100 or $100,000...the cars are all the same. (besides the few that have a little bit of hidden "special" work done.) lol. But thanks everyone. any of you race or used to race in SM?

looks a great buy, I have thought about getting one of these for cheap (relative) racing. Over the winter I am sure I will rent one for a weekend or 2 somewhere warm
