So I finally got a 951

I had a very clean NA 85.5 944. I decided to trade it for an also cery clean 240sx coupe with coilovers, a spare motor, a not intalled turbo setup, among some other parts. I had it for less than a week, and saw a ad on CL for an 86 951 that needed paint, but has a brand new clutch, chips, boost enhancer, boost contoller, and is in good shape. emailed the guy and asked if he would be interested in trading, and he was. (turns out he used to have an identical car, and wanted another one) so in the end we swapped. i kept all the spare parts.
The only main problem areas are;
Paint
Seats
dash
and a vibration mainly at about 1100 rpm.
So i'm getting the balance and timing belts replaced tomorrow, and paint next week.

Haha just ran across this thread. Congrats again Taylor! For those that don't know, this car drives extremely well... you would never guess by looking at the condition of the exterior or maybe even the interior, but mechanically the car runs very strong.
Of course, until today... Hope we can fix your little breakdown you had today quickly..

haha yeah, I may have blown the ring and pinion gear today. dammit. anyone have a spare 951 ring and pinion they want to sell?
Elliot, in about to pick up an Allen key, see if there are any metal chunks, and if so, start tearing that **** out.
the tow truck driver that picked me up today was the same one who picked me up in my na when the ecu took a bath. haha

I'm not going to lie and say I didn't, I did two. I knew better, but I threw caution to the wind and I'm paying for it now. sril insure what it is. started as a loud almost grinding or shreiking noise at high Roma then on the way to work, it quit pulling it self at all. so I hadit towed hone and you can put it in gear and basically nothing happens the tires spin but you can stop them.
so two questions. is anyone local selling a 951 tranny? and two if I get one how hard would it be to put my LSD in it? I may be going half on a 951 parts car with Elliot.
