Engline Idle is shaky @ Cold Start and when AC compressed engaged
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for some feedback on a car that I had inspected today. I'm thinking of purchasing the car, but it is located out of town...The make is Porsche, model 944 turbo - year '86.
Below is the full summary of the inspection - I have a couple of concerns and since this is my first 944 turbo, I'm curious though if anyone has any experience/feedback for the potential issues that were found. Particularly with the comment about the engine idle that is shaky at cold start and when the ac compressor kicks in...does anyone know what this could be, or if this is a concern?
Besides this, he mentioned the exhaust was a bit throaty and a small oil leak...the mechanic did not know exactly 'where' it was coming from.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
Vehicle's mechanical operation is very good. Engine and turbo function strong. Standard transmission, clutch and gear synchro are in good working condition. Suspension is and steering is tight. Exhaust is throaty but as expected for performance vehicle.
Engine idle is shaky at cold start and when AC compressor is engaged. Interior heating and AC operate well. Hood shocks need to be replaced. Wiper fluid supply line and "t's" require replacement. Hood insulation is weathered and deteriorating. Tires are good (no conventional rating on ZR tires due to age / system limitations). Interior is very clean with light wear to carpet a& floor mats. Left front leather seat shows some cracking due to age, but it is not torn. Rear cargo includes functioning cargo cover, removable sun roof sleeve, all tools, comp and spare tire. Manuals and repair docs are maintained. Vehicle has some cosmetic flaws, but overall condition is good. Light oil leak detected

The asking price of the car is $11,500 for an '86 with about 50k on the engine....
Curious on what everyone's perspective is....
