Bad ISV experience?

Idle actuator pin 4 should show zero ohms to ground (should be able to just test from 4 to the engine block).

There are two coils in the Idle valve, one closes it and the other opens it. The DME pulses the two coils to control how much the valve opens. The pulse are generated so that when one valve is on, the other is off.

One test is to connect 12VDC to the center pin and ground one of the other pins. One pin should snap the valve closed and the other will snap the valve open. I measured my Idle positioner valve and it was a little less then 20 ohm on each coil.

In the diagram, pin 2 is connected to 12VDC and either pins 1 or 3 are grounded to open or close the valve.
