255/50/16 is too big I think - 24.7 vs. 26.0 diameter diff, side walls are .7" bigger. Overall, tire is +5.5% bigger.
225/50/16 is much closer. Only .7% larger than the 245.
Idda know...you could make a case to run RA-1's all year. At full tread they are decent in the rain. Can't be any more slippery in the cold than my cheapo Hankook Ventus RS-2s. Of course, at $220 a pop or so, they ain't that cheap. I wish Hankook would decide to support the Ventus RS-3 in the 245 size. Decent, cheap dry tire.

We need something with a huge market...like a ford escort or something...that has the tire as a stock size.

not that this is a great selection but what about all these?

Good find - looks like a closeout specialist that buys remaining stock. The Toyo and Hankook are are out of production.

Whether or not these are still available I don't know but, according to manufactures websites, ContiSportContact, Bridgestone SO1 or Toyo still make ZR tyres in that size.

I'm wondering if tire sizes are regionally released....I see you're in Oman - maybe you get different choices.

not saying they are still available, just that there are several cars that used them. Certainly not here in Oman as we are currently trying to source some for 911's.
TireRack lists a couple of brands in that size but as closeout so they presumably won't be re-stocking.
Still checking in the UK for a source but no luck so far.
Rechecked the Conti website and although it initially finds the correct size in ContiSportContact, it then proceeds to tell you that that tyre doesn't exist anymore - typical
What about the Toyo T1R ?
