I've taken care of almost all the squeaks, rattles, noises in the car but the last one is bugging the hell out of me. Its coming from the rear suspension right in front of the rear tires on both sides. Right side is far worse than the left side. While trying to figure out what's causing it, I opened the door and stood on the sill and started to jump up and down. That's when I noticed it doesn't squeak when you push down, only when it pops back up. The noise is coming somewhere between the fronts of the rear wheel to the door. I've looked at diagrams of the suspension, even stuck my head down there but I have no idea what I'm looking at. I could use some help and this should finally solve all the noise problems that I've had.
Thanks!
Thanks!

The rubber bushings in the torsion bar setup?
Do you have upgraded torsion bars or anything? The delrin bushings are known to squeak and bind (stock ones are rubber). I have elephant-racing poly-bronze bushings in mine. They're really 'spensive, but worth it!

Ok, looked back at some older postings and found these issues still there:
1. Loose shifter - still an issue. Any way of getting that thing tighter?
2. bad ball joints - sounds more like medical condition. Is this the same thing as a cv joint? My mechanic didn't say anything when he was doing the inspection. He's pretty good and replaced 2 of them on my other 951.
3. worn suspension bushing - this is probably the source of the sound but still not sure what/where the part(s) located.

No ball joints on the back suspension, just those rubber bushings. As for the shifter, not sure if you're suggesting that might be the source of the noise? Almost certainly not. But plenty of ways to firm that up if it's an separate problem.

That car has a brand new ball joint. The noise you are hearing is the old style race suspension bushings. I was going to have my guy do the full suspension swap over to the newer lindsey style units that have the lube plug but, obviously we never got a chance to do that.
To do the job right you need to go ahead and replace all the bushings. I think it was about 1200 or so for the full kit, installed with everything.
