Default Another set of wheels...

Hi all...

Been a while. I recently bought a 993 C4S & as you can imagine I've spent most of my free (on line and off) time messing around with that.

This evening was the first time I've been able to drive one right after the other & I'm amazed at how much faster the 951 is! Granted, I have some nice modifications on the 951 and the 993's engine is stock, but the sheer speed on boost is intoxicating. Don't get me wrong, the 993 is a truly visceral & classy driving experience and a highly evolved example of the air cooled 911; it just isn't as fast. Perhaps I need to find a 993tt!

Anyway, I bought a nice set of Champion RG5's for the 951 last weekend - just for a change:

I've been so busy lately that I have not had time to fit a long list of mods that I've bought - big blacks & 993tt rotors / euro fogs / 968 mirrors & handles / euro rear bumper...

Hope to have all done soon - especially now that I know I'll be taking the 951 on any "fast road" PCA gatherings!

These really are awesome cars.

I agree own both the same cars. 951 is faster but each its own personality!

If you don't mind me asking, how much was that set of wheels, and how hard were they to find? I've been looking for a set to pop up and heard they were out of production.

Need bigger brakes under such revealing wheels haha.

They look good though.

They come up for sale here and there on the GT3 forums.

Those look good. I just googled them and a set would cost more than I have in my car.

They look very nice and suit the car beautifully. Once the mirrors AND the Euro rear bumper go on it will look amazing. I've been in a 993 before and it was pretty quick but in a more linear fashion. Perhaps you need to drive your avatar??
Still a great car though...but I'd love to own both too.

No problem... Paid just under 2k for them with nice rubber. Local pca member who had them on his 993.

Thanks - they do suit the car & they seem to look even bigger than the RUF's...

The 993 is a superb car & I love it - it's just different. And slower.
