Default Turbo salvageable?

Not pcar related really, but figured I'd ask here due to all the knowledge.
I had a GT28RS on an old car and the CHRA took a crap causing the compressor wheel to slightly rub on the compressor housing. I know the CHRA will need to be replace, but is it possible to reuse the compressor housing? You could feel the wear slightly with your fingernail. Will try to get a good picture of the housing soon...

sounds like you can reuse it to me just carefully check the clearance when you assemble it
Shop around CHRA's are expensive i think you may get one with a front cover for another $50
also double check the back plate size ... not sure about Gt28s but gt35's have heaps of different back plates and covers ..

It will probably flow a few hundredths of a percent less efficiently or something, but otherwise should be fine.

Take it to a guy who does turbos and ask him this question. There's a ton of stuff that could be wrong with it, all expensive.

Most likely what I'll be doing. Probably going to have it fitted to a #8 KKK housing and put it on my S4
