Default Smoke on engine start

Hi guys,

A couple of days ago I had a look at 951. It looked and drove great, however on start up, a bit of a smoke was coming from exhaust. Not black, just regular white/gray smoke. It all settled within 5/10 sec tops and I did not see any smoke afterwards. Is it normal on 951s or not?

P.S. I know I should take it for a proper PPI, but before putting any money on it, I want to make sure there are no obvious problems with the car...

Thank You!

pretty normal. some head gaskets when going bad leak coolant into the chambers which obviously on start it has to burn that stuff out.

Though relatively normal for these cars, it's not telling you anything. It could mean a large number of things. If you get the PPI, take it someone who know 951's, not just someone random.

Mine use to do that and I discovered the oxygen sensor connector was off.

Depends on where you live! In the Northeast this time of year it is very common to get a lot of condensation in the exhaust due to the temperature / humidity changes – that will cause white vapor on start up
