why are you not putting a LQ4 in there? I just finished building my truck to 600whp for just under 5 grand. $2400 stroker kit bringing it to a 409, $800 cam and valve springs, $500 headers, $200 intake, $400 LS2 heads and $200 for injectors. Oh and its only 35lbs heavier than the LS1 block.

First:
I'm assuming you're talking flywheel horsepower, or you haven't dynoed it yet. Cammed LS7's make about 550rwhp (that's more displacement, better heads, dry sump, etc. etc.). I really doubt a smaller LQ4 will crest 475-500rwhp naturally aspirated.
Secondly:
I wouldn't want that much power in a 944. I have enough trouble keeping 285's sticking with ~400hp.

If it is like the L33 truck motor you have to swap the accessories for F-body units, the intake has to be changed, it is heavier and the car motors make more power stock. It is just one less problem when doing the conversion. I was going to use an L33 until I found a good low mile motor out of a GTO.
