Default tial wastegate

Just a quick question, The Tial mounts differently than the stock wastegate almost looks backwards in comparison, should I be able to press on the piston/valve to open it up? I bought this used and want to make sure I'm doing things right, this was on another 951 at some time and adapters are in place.

yup, reverse. The bottom of the valve face points toward the source of exhaust flow.
On the factory wastegate, the back (side with stem) of the valve faced the source of exhaust flow.

Are you saying that it is easy to push the piston in? Or are you asking if that is how it works?

Easy no about 0.9 kg in my case. Depends on the spring. The kkk wastegate works the other way by pushing the piston out . Study a tial you will find out thats how it works. 1bar should be the same as pushing 1kg btw ..

I was asking if you can push the piston in, I haven't tried real hard, but it seems like it would take more than a thumb to push it in

You should be able do it with your thumb but its STIFF I thought it was impossible first time I pushed then I really went for it and it moved a couple of mm. Feels a lot stronger than you'd expect.

My wastegate had a .8 bar spring and it was pretty stiff to push in. If you really want to, you can push it in, but it isn't super easy.
