That's a good price for a good 2.7L head. GLWS.

According to my vernier it measure 24.14-24.19mm depending on how I hold it. There is an 05 stamp on the face. I have measured sealing head flatness and it 3-5 thou out of flatness. #4 exhaust valve seat is dislodged. One of the studs for the rear cooling elbow attachment is sheared but there is still stud showing. All exhaust valve studs have been removed to confirm no issues. No other issues that I have found

Chris,
True statement, but I stand by mine. The 2.7 was/is the best 8v head Porsche made for these cars. I don't see too many people closing up 951 ports and installing smaller valves.
Admittedly Porsche did use small exhaust ports on these heads, on at least one of the 968 TurboRS cars, to maximize torque as max power was limited by regulations.

Come on over – I’ll show you one with welded intake ports (the floor of the ports is welded and raised). One of the ‘little known’ head prep facts is that air flow speed is as important as flow volume. The larger the port the slower the flow (general statement). The head I have here (2.5 turbo head) flows over 300cfm on the intake side with a high flow speed.
Another thing to keep in mind is that larger intake valves on a 100mm bore will run in to a shrouding problem when the side of the valve head gets too close to the cylinder wall – the flow improvement will really drop off. The 2.7 head was designed around a 104mm bore so there was more room to run a larger valve.
Still, all that being said – the stock 2.7 head is an upgrade over a stock 2.5 head. Somebody should buy it!!
