K27/6
Hello!
I have a 951 220hp with a kit guru 15PSI.
I brocken my engin (valve). I will open this for a refection. And i want change the turbo. The K26/6 is not really in good shame
I'm going to have a K27 from BMW 4.5l (old 745i)
I want to made a K27/6 with hot parts of K26 and cold parts of K27.
It's possible?
And for injector, stock or not? The chips? Use a Maxhpkit.
I don't have fit back in france...
All the best
Flo (sorry for my english..)

Your english is better then my french
A K27 cold side can work with a K26 hot side. A good turbocharger repair shop should be able to do that.
Stock injectors are only good for ~300rwhp. So if you want to run more then that you will need to upgrade injectors.
Chips, VR and Max951 are two good choices.

Flo, might be easier to just get a complete kit with MAF and everything.
The DIY is great, but you will have lots of experimenting to do. That typically isn't fun. Sometimes going with something that works is easier and cheaper in the long run.

I've been very happy with the K27/6. Spool up is ~200rpm slower than the K26/6 with the tradeoff being the ability to hold 15psi of boost to redline. I also find the boost curve to be more linear. The K26/6 came on hard early and then trailed off at higher revs. As the K27/6 spools up you don't get that big spike, it just builds steadily as the revs increase.
The downside is that 15psi is about the max the K27/6 can make before back pressure becomes an issue. For the street it's plenty fast enough, but then enough is never enough, right? If you think you can be satisfied with this level of performance then it's a fairly straightforward swap and the cost is reasonable. If you think you'll want to run more boost or experiment with E85 then I'd save my money and buy a Vitesse Racing Stage 2/3 with big injectors.
My full setup: K27/6, Vitesse Racing MAF/Chip, 55# injectors, Tial 38 wastegate, Forge BOV and a manual boost controller.

Greg, what kind of uncorrected HP were you making with K27/6 and Vitesse MAF? I was going to do a comparison between Authority MAF& K27/6 and then switching to Vitesse MAF and K27/6 but the build progressed different than expected and wont get the opportunity to see how much Vitesse MAF helped because I am switching turbos.
In Denver mine made 255hp (dynodynamics) uncorrected (autothority MAF and K27/6). Just wondering what you are making with your K27/6?

I'm "Self-taught" The project "creat a 951 with K27/6" is interessant for me. With chip of MAXhp the configuration seems good...
Greg, le français est correcte, j'ai presque cru qu'un mangeur de baguette me répondait!
So, thanks for your fit back!
I search a Less of lag and of the brutality
I used my 951 in sport driving (on road), on 2 tracks day/years

I've run the K27/6 for years. And you can run a lot more than 15psi without any problems on pump gas. I typically ran 17-18psi all day long.
And the K27/6 will hit real hard if you have a good aftermarket wastegate & boost controller and a 2.5" test pipe (a real test pipe... not just a removed cat).
I've made over 335RWHP with that turbo .
