Default Ot: Brumos Museum Trip

I was in Jacksonville for some paint training and had a chance to visit Brumos. What an amazing opportunity! I had heard they had a private collection but never thought I'd have the opportunity to see it. As luck would have it we were given a tour by Hurley Haywood himself. We went to the dealership first and Mr. Haywood drove us to the race shop in a Panamera TT, nice ride of course, wish the trip was a little longer. They were working on an old Aston (polished aluminum body!) and a couple indy cars from the 40's. Some of the cars we saw were his 917-10, 962, 550-30, a 910, a bunch of amazing 914's of course. The list goes on, but the best part was to hear him recount his feelings about some of these very special cars. Of the three of us that went, I'm the only porsche guy-it was like walking into church. I think I'll be digesting this for a long time to come...

No cameras allowed in the Brumos Museum. Ditto for the Collier Collection in Naples (close to 100 million in cars)

I'm glad you got a religious experience. You do understand that I'm jealous now, right?

Believe me, If I could have taken pictures I would have. Considering it was only the 4 of us it wasn't like I could even sneak a cell phone pic.
