Can't yet afford a new set, so I'm looking for anyone selling a set of rear coilovers, any brand, any springrate, any setup that is basically ready to be installed (nothing needing rebuilt or extra parts), the main concern for me is affordability right now.

are the Ground Control rear coilovers the cheapest brand new set available for our cars? I know the other brands Bilstein, Leda, JIC, KW, and Koni are all more expensive than the GC's and probably better quality as well, but I desperately need something that is on the cheaper end. Thanks!

Do a search on QA1 proma star shocks. They will work (not the best - but they work) and they are affordable.

If you search hard enough you may find a write up I did on installing them about 10 years ago!

I too need new suspension desperately lol. I'm pretty certain I'm on the original shocks =[ I bought it with 83k miles and the rear left is totally blown past comprehension and the right is almost there.
Seems like the original owner wouldn't have replaced the shock at only 83k but who knows...
If I just got with the bilstein hd shocks will that be sufficient for now? Or am I going to regret not going to TB + coilover the first time around...

Read HD's will make a big difference if you are currently running on a blown or worn out set.

Still rockin them. Just looking for the other car which is looking stupid right now slammed in the front and high and dry in the rear!

Sweet! These seem more like my price range. Of course, I'll have to calculate the price with springs and shipping and stuff, but it should still be cheaper than the Ground Controls.

Only thing I'm uncertain is that there looks to be a lot of height options to choose from. I will probably go with a 14" spring since that seems more common, and I'm not sure whether the race bearing or poly bushing type is better...? (from JEGS website)

If I find rear coilovers soon, I'll be removing a set of Bilstein HD shocks that I'll be happy to sell you if you'd like. They were a great upgrade from the stock shocks.

I have various 2.25" springs Eibach and Hyperco 6" 7" and 8". $70 a set/pair if you need any.

I also have 2.5" 8" and 10" for the front in various rates also.

Yeah, I'd definitely be interested for sure.

I'd want maybe 225 lb springs for the front at stock ride height, do you have anything like that?
I plan on doing around 250 lb in the back but until I get a way to put springs back there I'll have to deal with the understeer for awhile lol

Richard, I may definitely take you up on the offer. What do you have above #550 springs for the rear? I have a spare set of 6" #400 springs and I think they will be too soft.

Also, do you know if they will fit the QA1 rear coilovers? Their parts call for either 12" or 14" springs for the rear, which seems strangely tall for the rear...

The Bilstein HDs can be converted to a coilover, similar to 968 M030. See above.

Bilstein can do this work for you. They are not suitable for TB delete though.

Your rear Escort Cup springs, on the 951 are either 9 or 10" springs. FYI.
