Default How to remove gas floater...?

Crosspost...

The black plastic ring (in hatch) that has the fins on it, that you have to twist off- can't tap it loose- breaks the fins. I'm planning to take a piece of PVC pipe (of correct diameter) & notch it out for the fins, but this involves some effort- if it's my only option, then ok, but would like a better option. I've already checked PET to find the correct wrench(?) but to no avail... Any ideas?

Also, will I need some sort of gasket to put the thing BACK ON when I'm finished?

thanks

Most people just replace the whole car I got mine loose using a neighbors adjustable pin spanner for home plumbing fittings. Merry Christmas Robby

Hey Steve- this sounds a bit like removing the deeper version of windshield washer from a Turbo S... Hold washer resovoir & pull car off of it... I like your idea of adj pin spanner- will look into that.

thanks & Merry Christmas!
