Default Problem with internal air blower / fan

Merry Christmas all.

All of a sudden, the fan in my '86 951 won't switch on, which is an issue as its very hot this time of the year in Australia, and I can't use the a/c without it.

To try and fix it, so far I have done the following:

1. Checked its fuse (while in position with fuse tester). Seems fine.
2. Pulled out relevant relay and removed cap / housing. I am not very knowledgeable about relays, so could not readily assess if there was an issue. I have put it back in (I don't know how to bypass it).

All of the other controls work for the heating / air con, except the fan and the front demister which relies on the fan.

Any thoughts / ideas appreciated please (other than buying a new fan motor and/or relay).

Thanks
Ebs

My fan quit blowing about 6 months ago. It was the relay that was bad.

Default intermitent fail

Mine only works on high sometimes. Then comes back and works fine at lower speeds.
Any idea what may need replacing?

Thanks.

The whole unit went off, then came back on and worked perfectly (briefly) until I tried to turn it up and then died again completely.

Be interesting to substitute the relay initially.
