Default new release SPEC Aluminum Pressure Plate

SPEC has been working on this for some time but it was finally introduced
at the SEMA show this year.

The new Aluminum Pressure Plate for the 951. It's lighter then
anything else and rebuildable.

You can read a little about it on our SPEC clutch page if your interested in
finding out more and we now stock it and make it available as an option
with any of their 951 clutch kits.

Hey Mike how does that differ from the other Light weight Spec Aluminum Pressure Plate I purchased from you a few years ago?

I would be concerned with the aluminum surface wearing extremely quick...

Looks like a steel facing on an aluminum surface.

An aluminum surface would not last long!

Ah, you are right - guess I didn't take a good look at it in the first place

i think the difference is the older one had just an aluminum outer looks like that one has and aluminum backing on the (steel ) friction surface .. I think the aluminum would dissipate the heat better than an all steel one wich could help performance ..

The cover is aluminum versus steel on the other model. Same clamp force. 3.6 pounds lighter.

Actually, the previous had a steel cover and aluminum friction ring with steel bolt on wear surface. This has aluminum cover, aluminum friction ring with steel wear surface. We offer both now.

They are doing the same thing as is done on the aluminum flywheels. A steel
replacable friction surface. This makes the PP rebuildable for those who tear
up clutches or wear them out more then the average guy.

Why does the Spec product seem to polarise people's opinions?
