Along with 951 exhaust valves, the 2.7 head is doing fine under plenty of boost. The 2.7 is the better choice in my view, since it was designed for the 104mm bores, has bigger intake valves, and bolts up without structural modifications.

the ceramic liners were in there for emissions reasons more than anything else (to heat up the catalytic converter as fast as possible-note the great lengths Porsche went to for this - double walled pipe, liners in the headers)
that being said, you are taking a step backwards by installing an n/a head.

How is an NA head different from a 951 head, besides the ceramic liners? I've had them side-by-side and could discern no difference. Just curious.

Tom, I used a 2.7 head on my 3L build but I was wondering, are the larger intake valves really that much of a help if the exhaust valves are still the same size?
