Motive Users Beware
So I'm under the car bleeding the slave with the Motive power bleeder. All seems to be going fine when I start to hear a tinkling sound -- like fluid leaking somewhere. Seeing nothing on the floor, I keep bleeding for a minute until I figure out what it is. The clear hose on the Motive bottle sprung a leak where it is clamped to the bottle -- it was shooting a stream of brake fluid half way across the garage, all over the fender and into the storage shelves in my garage. Super fun.
So, take a close look at that tube before using. If it's kinked at all, time for a new one....

I've seen a couple of hoses burst and hose the front of the cars with brake fluid. I only use a vacuum pull air assisted system now. Much more efficient and zero mess. My motive hasn't been used in 5 years I bet.

Paint seems to be fine -- I scrambled and grabbed the first thing I could, Simple Green. Then water, paint cleaner, new wax. Seems to be ok, I just worry where else the fluid got that I may have missed. Time will tell.
I'm glad to hear they have a swivel now -- has that been out a while, or do I need to hunt to make sure I've found a place with that version?
As for a better hose, I imagine just about anything would be better than that clear plastic they used. Motive's own caliper draining jars have a nice soft silicon tube that seems perfect -- you can still see into it, but its very flexible compared to the clear plastic tubing.

I have used every type of bleeder (Motive included) and have found that without a doubt if you have the man power (2) to manually bleed the brakes then it is the best option.

I vacuum bled the brakes on my dodge, felt like crap, still had air in them because of the bleeder screw design, went and bled them with the motive, AWESOME... flushed all the air in 10 minutes, and I didn't even have to pull the wheels to do it! I love my motive... and now have adapters for it for all my cars...

I built a bleeder with air tool parts and a garden sprayer from Home Depot. I do not put fluid into it as I hate the mess brake fluid makes and it is damaging to paint and skin.
With an air QR on the air line to the cap you can maintain pressure in your sprayer but whip the MC cap off to add more fluid as needed. Very easy. I have a male QR fitting JB-welded into the MC cap. The QR works as a swivel also.
