Default Watsegate Technical information

I am looking for some technical information on the 944 turbo wastegate. I am not sure what to look for but everything is welcome
If there's a difference in the 220 and 250 hp version let me know.

It's for a study about the 944 Turbo

There is no difference between 220 and 250.

The only difference is the casing on the '85/'86 has longer cooling fins.

Its made by KKK I think its 44mm it has the pressure on the back of it . it has a hex cut in the face so you can lap the seat using an hex key and power drill it has a cracking pressure of about 7psi or up to about 11psi with 8mm of shims i think it genrally struggles with creep and control beyond about 17psi is the genral belief on this forum .
I think the most cost effective upgrade is the lindsey actulator upgrade for the standard wastegate .

Like Thom says, the fins are the only difference. 100% interchangable. I disagree on
the years though.

I disagree on the purpose of the hex... it's not to lap the valve, but rather to screw the valve into the diaphragm.

Well perhaps the units with large fins found their way on a handful of some '87+ non-S cars, but I'm pretty confident all 250 models had the units with smaller fins.
