Default S&R Sensors

I have about 50K on mine and I have been having some starting issues lately. It just seems to be taking longer. I has stranded 3 days after buying the car, due to the sensors. I would rather replace early rather then be stuck.

Everyone has an opinion on changing timing belt, or oil change frequency. I would like to hear how many miles people have on sensors after putting on new ones.

As far as I know, the ones I just replaced on my 951 were the originality ones... they had almost totaly disintegrated, and my car has 206K on the clock!

IMHO, it is far easier to change them than to be stuck when they fail... maybe change them at the same time as the T-belt and Water pump...

+1 on changing them. But if you have any of the issues I did (sensor was stuck, bracket cracked) then be prepared to spend a bit more money to get everything right.

The sensors have no moving parts or chips inside them so they very rugid. The problem I have had with them is in the cable and the plugs. The plastic plugs just fall apart over time which cause all type of intermittent problem.

If you do go to the cheaper replacement sensor, be sure to take up the extra cable length to keep it clear of the hot side pipes of the turbo. I melted one up really good on the track.

I would say that's a fair diagnosis.
