Default 2010 951 Calendar

I am making a calendar for 2010. If you have any cool pics of 951's post them here. Below is the general layout and suggestions that I have. The price is $19.95 plus shipping to you. I am doing this for fun and am not making a profit from it. I am just trying to give something back to you guys.

1. Hold pics for each month to 3 max. One really good one is the best unless 2 or 3 of the same car and same theme are interesting. (example car, motor, wheel)

2. Try to take the pics as good a quality as you can. Good exposure. good focal points. Nothing to distract in the background. Nothing that looks like it is growing out of the car (trees or poles and people) Also make the place of the photo something interesting like a race track, mountains, or garage.

3. Try to make the 951 the main point of photo. I will not put any people in unless the babe is totally hot. (JK .... please no people)

4. delete anything out of pics that you do not want in. (example plate numbers, addresses etc..)

5. As people post pics, reply +1 if you like it. I will try to put the top voted photos in.

6. I am going to go through I-photo to make these. I did one last year and it turned out great.

7. If you post a pic of your car with your birthday I will post that pic on that day in the calendar. (they are small but it will be fun to see whos b-day it is and their car)

If I am leaving anything out let me know.

I will end this Thread November 20th so that I can get the calendar made and ordered.

And/or a site sponsor.

I'm down whenever you're able to actually post this per rennlist rules!

Plus research what "The Women of Rennlist" had to do for a calendar (because there were pictures of Porsches in it and they were selling it)...IIRC they were contaced by PCNA's lawyers and had to jump through a few hoops to make it work legally.

They are doing this on the 993 forum. Maybe I need to contact them first.

Rich, great idea but you do need to be a Member to do this. And there could be as others pointed out, some legal issues too.

If it does go through, it would be nice to have notable "Porsche Holidays" liseted in the calendar for days there are Porsche-interest events, like Hershey Swap Meet, 944Fest, etc.

Yeah, it's actually illegal to make calenders because Porsche theoretically owns the pictures of your cars (I remember seeing this problem before, some thing about using an image of a car they built is still considered theirs). I remember the mustang guys ran into some big legal problems when they made calenders.

That's ridiculous that a personal picture can be considered copyrighted.

Especially when they couldn't give a crap about the 944 series...

Its funny to watch Porsche suddenly admit to making the 928 now that it has a connection via the Panamerica....

Absolutely insane that 'they' can claim rights to a product that was sold to an individual and pictures of said product that were taken by the owner by a camera that 'they' didn't have anything to do with. Criminal in any right, especially since Porsche never acknowledges the 944 in any history photo ads that they publish, while placing multiple 911's in them - i.e. the new Porsche Heritage ad.

Ummm.....

LEGALLY you cannot SELL ANY reproductions of the Porsche image/Crest/trademarks etc....

However you CAN GIVE AWAY any of the above....so shipping for this "free" calendar would be around $25.00 ?

We used to do this @ the Pomona swap meet - One could not sell "concessions" inside the gates unless licensed by the organizers so we sold bolts for 50cents each with a free Coke!

A concession soda started @ $3.00 (!)
