HP how much for street?
For a street application
What is the most hp/torque reccomended that would keep reliabilty in check but also keep the car balanced re: susp/handeling, braking and acceleration (upgrading these as well). Maintain the original character but improve on it.
I know massive amounts can be made but talking overall balance.

This question could have many possible answers. These cars were engineered and designed for the power output they came with. That's plenty fast for 95% of the Joes driving them. Increase the power = improve handling = improve braking = improve tires = ...
"Maintain the original character but improve on it" - not sure what this sentence means...

I would agree with 350-400 in the real world.
I run 305 rwhp on the track all day and it seems to be working out good with 30k of track miles on her.
Another issue is the cost of the HP above that 350-400 area. Above that and you have out run the simple bolt on intake and exhaust mods that work so well on our cars.
Whats that saying..."How fast do you want to spend???"

You can never have enough horsepower.
However, if you're talking about how much horsepower is appropriate on an otherwise stock 951; I'd say about 350. After that, you'd need stiffer suspension, more tires, better brakes, etc etc etc.
Personally, I want as much horsepower as I can legally get in my racing class - OR as much horsepower as I need to be faster than everyone else on the track at a DE.

For street use I say about 320-340rwhp is good enough to bet just about anything you will run across on the roads on a regular basis.
