Dude I need a ride in the Vette when you get it. I have a special dislike for Corvettes (maybe its just the owners. oh and the C4 version)but they really nailed it with the C6. I actually want one...

I have NO clue what your talking about. A corvette being a fast, reliable, easy to work on modern day supercar is about as absurd of a thought as their owners being competent.

I wouldn't say a vette is exactly easy to work on...

Post some pics when you pick it up John!

I've been unique since 2004. Find me another 968 rear end swapped 944 turbo in this country. People would follow me in my car like it was a 300k lambo. It was a very unique great looking car.

Is this really THAT bad?

Am I the only one that doesn't like the look of 968 rockers?

Not as fast for as cheep, not nearly as new, not nearly as cheep to maintain either. I like that 968 s2cab. Its a really great looking car. Props to that owner. I've seen that car as well as pictures of 4 other conversions. I've just never seen their owners actually post, and certainly never seen their cars anywhere at any shows, street, etc. The point I was making was someone cracked off about unique. I was in a very very elite 944 group. My car was rare and was unique.

Look guys I appreciate all the imput. This is a porsche board I get that. That's why I didn't even talk about the damn car to begin with and I still haven't told you guys any details on the build. I keep that crap to myself or I post it where its wanted.

Do you really wanna hear about 630rwhp on pump gas with dead set reliability? I've heard the arguements on this board over the years about 944 vs the world and how its the best car in the world. I get it. You like your cars. I liked mine too. Nothing wrong with that. Let me spend my money, time, energy on what I choose too. If its not for you then that's fine.

I'm sure people thought spending 7k on swapping the rear end out was stupid too. Or me deciding to sell the car today and its gone. Look when I decide to do something I just do it. I decided on a new motor instead of redoing my old one and had a new one lined up in 4 days. Got rear ended decided to do a conversion and I stuck it out even when it went waaay over budget. I always stick out my projects and builds. Rest assured if I could have such a great 944 that anything I choose to build or drive would probably be of similar caliber. Even if you can't get past the badge on the hood.

Lots of people have trouble getting passed labels.

It's just that man it's a porsche forum. I'm sure everyone here has respect for every car that puts down that kind of power. It's hard to compare a car that new with a car that over 20 years old and the technology is decades apart. No 944 will ever put down the kinda power you will get out of that car with, knock on wood, very little trouble. Good luck dude, everyone here is gonna give you a hard time after getting rid of a car like that.

I can understand and respect that but, in the end its just a car dude. Its a car. Not a wife, not a child, not the end of the world. IF I really get a wild hair and decide down the road to buy another 944 I can.

I hear they are going pretty cheep these days.
