Rogue

From what I have read the AFM becomes less and less effective, due to the flap angle; as the flap reaches full open around 4000 RPM. Now after that how does the DME meter the fuel? How is the load controlled if it doesn't use the throttle position sensor?

Thanks

The AFM maxxing at 4000rpm is a bit of a misnomer...
The AFM should not max out until ~300rwhp. So the AFM isn't RPM dependent, but rather air volume.
The DME uses the AFM input, along with some others to determine air-mass.
I'm not exactly sure how to explain this... just know the DME always uses the AFM input. If the AFM input is maxed, then the DME will output its maximum programmed Injector Duty Cycle (IDC) - dictated by the maps.

So this would be what ever fuel is in the box for 6240 rpm off the wot map. I guess this isn't so bad if you stay with the stock rev limit of 6480

I have the Scivision maf that goes 0-5 volts am I going to be able to use that "extra range" above 4.6 volts?

I’m shooting for 325 to 350 rwhp so I will be close. I was thinking of lowering my rev limit from 7000 back to 6500? I think this will keep my maf and injectors 55# in limits.

Yes you are correct, with the Scivision MAF, you will be able to use the 'extra range'.
I would recommend lowering the RPM limit to below 6800. These engines are not very fond of over-revving.
And if your staying below 350rwhp, then you should be fine with the Scivision.

Rouge, I'm interested in this for a 87 NA. How many people do you need for a NA version?
Thanks

No worries - I haven't had time to really mess with it, but hopefully will get to it this weekend.

J, did you ever get a chance to take a look at the new cell tracing, we still cant get it to work correct... The dash wont work without a .ads file is this correct?

Denver got hit with a snow-storm, and just generally **** weather... I have not made any progress this weekend...
You are correct, the Dash won't work without the .ads file.
I might get something done tomorrow. We will see.

Well the good news the cell tracing is working but now to the bad.. I spoke with Mark from Tunerpro and the dash and moniotring porition he said will not work. He has explained it as the Ostrish can only do the cell tracing porition and not acqusition.. umm so now what, and is this correct or is there a way around this with some code of somesort? Man i wish i was as smart as you guys ......

yeah hes correct. short of makeing an aldl harness you cant use the dash board. and for those that havent figured out how to get the cell tracing working. all you do is open up the map you want and click the A at the top of the maps tool bar. it works but the tracing rectangle is all over the place

Just downloaded the software, browsed through it and I have a few questions.

When you input AFRs to the tables, are these "target" AFR's? In other words, are you tricking the ecu into trying to tune itself iteratively until it see's these values, or is this just a way of scaling the injector pulsewidth based on throttle vs. rpm map?

I'm used to working with megasquirt where fuel is scaled as a percentage of maximum volumetric efficiency (VE%), and plotted against load (map or tps) vs. rpm

also, how would you tune the difference between 15 or 20 psi of boost if it is all in the WOT tuning region? Is this taken care of by the MAF transfer function adjustments? Also, the car this would be going on has an LR MAF... is that compatible?

Sorry for the barrage of questions, but It's either this or megasquirt for this car. I'm trying to compare the two as this is starting to seem much easier but possibly more limited.
