Default Encouraging sale for value of 951

Wow - this 944 turbo went for way more than I figured on ebay...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Especially with the brown on brown paint color. Maybe it was because of the MAF and the Huntley turbo? It will at least need all new hoses, engine wiring harness and possibly battery cables and engine bay wiring harness. Intake seals, fuel lines, cycling valve, speed and ref sensors. Probably will need new fuel rail and injectors too. The extingusher material might have eaten away at a lot of aluminum too.

For those without an ebay account to see completed auctions it was a 1986 944 turbo VIN#WP0AA0953GN156272 located in Houston Texas that sold for $2425 yesterday evening. The seller states 11,584 miles but I think he meant 115,840 as he says the motor was rebuilt 5 k ago and the dash has cracks. Phones dials, autothority chips with lindsey maf, 72lb injectors. Power perfect fuel controller. Clean title.

I had seen it on ebay. If it was closer to me I would have bid on it.

Yea, i assumed the mileage was a mistake as well. Hopefully the buyer asked the seller about the mileage and isn't expecting a 11k mile car.

Only 2k put on the car in the past 10 years is not good.

WOW, makes me feel like I really got a good deal on mine..it ran for $3200...

That car looks like it has a nice body... but an engine bay fire and HORRIBLE paint... WOW

it does make me feel good about resale though... If the scale was correct, mine should have been a 6K car... but then I believe it should have been a 6K car anyway...

How is the paint so horrible? Also, it isn't brown it's champagne =P
The interior is the bad part of it. Mine is that same color just about but with black interior.
It is definitely not a brown, the color just doesn't photograph too well.
Although it does look like his headlights are mismatched in color.

Anyways, I wish I hadn't missed this auction as I live in Houston and that would have been nice to have around for parts.

Take a closer look at the hood..., nose panel doesn't match, nether do the headlights.... smells of a front end issue that might be bigger than the simple ole engine bay fire....

Even with said issues, it could be a sweet deal for someone who does their own work... the fire didn't seem too bad, just needs a good power-washing to see what all needs to be replace...

I bought mine knowing little else other than solid interior... the rest turned out to be BONUS... now I drive her 150 miles a day, and love every minute of it...

I bought mine with a spun #2 bearing for $1000. I did a complete engine rebuilt but it needs paint. The interior is nearly in perfect except for hairline cracks around defrost vents in the dash.
