Default x-over confusion

I ordered a 2 pc crossover and what I got leaves me fairly confused. I gathered that I needed a small tube piece that actually connects from the x-over to the wastegate, so I found one for a good price.

What I can't understand is how the hell I connect the tube piece to the x-over. There is a flange on the end of the x-over, and on the diagrams I found at dcauto it shows another flange on the x-over itself. Clearly there is no such flange in my pictures.

What am I missing here?

You are missing the flange that floats on the cross over extension and the seal which fits on the extension between the two flanges.

So this pipe isn't actually "held" onto the x-over, there is just a floating flange and a seal?

If you get another flange you may be able to slide the donut seal over the pipe, slide the pipes together and clamp it that way...

Zuba what you have pictured is a two piece crossover pipe. The one piece had the pipe to the wastegate permanently attached.

I know I have an 86 and I have the two piece. But im not sure if when they were converting to the two piece they didn't just cut the pipe and slide it together like the way they changed the other end that goes to the cat...

951saga's post shows you what you need. You need:

One of these:

And one of these:

Should be able to get a used flange for a lot less...

Tom has the links and these are the part numbers:
(3B) 930 123 134 04 Gasket
(3C) 951 123 260 01 Flange

There are two versions of the 2-piece cross over waste gate pipe extension. The one you have where the seal slides on the crossover pipe and the other the seal slide on the waste gate pipe.
