Exclamation Well its wrecked...

I don't have any pictures to post yet. I'm thinking it will be a blessing in disguise. I had fully intended to take the car in for a front end respray and rework(the lights and bumper did not align correctly) but, was having real trouble finding someone willing to tackle the job.

Front bumper is now smashed in pretty good. I'll need new fog lights(hello euros) and I need new indicators(hello clear lenses). I'll also need a new header panel(hello vented nose piece). I'll need a new front bumper as well.

If anyone knows of a GREAT porsche 944 body shop please send me a pm or post about it. I need someone who really knows these cars to fix this correctly and put the car back straight. The frame rails will need to be fixed(old issue) as well as a few other tidbits I'd like to make right on the car. This is my chance to make it perfect. So I'm looking for someone who would know how to make the car perfect.

The car is already at advanced automotive. I do have full coverage insurance and hopefully they play ball and don't try and total out the car. Any advice or recommendations on shops. parts, process is appreciated.

Let it begin

Argh. But you're right. It can be a blessing. Do a full 968 conversion?

Honestly if the bills weren't like they were right now. You bet your *** thats exactly what I'd be doing. Out of curosity anyone ever do that conversion? Or let me guess I'll have to be Christopher Columbus on that one too...

John, I have bodywork for the front end (obviously needs to be repainted) I'd let you have for cheap. Shoot me a PM.

Don't even look into a 968 front conversion the front tubs have extra crap on the 968's which makes it difficult to move body panels over. You'd have to build some fairly large bracket/conversion pieces. Not worth it.

K will do. It was my fault. Basically I did what Stephen(single turbo rx7 that rear ended me years ago) did to me. Elderly couple in front of me. Driving really slow and unsure of themselves. They pulled out to leave and then suddenly stopped. I wasn't paying attention and went right after them thinking they were gone and ran right into their rear bumper.

Wadda ya gonna do ya know? **** happens. This is what insurance is for.

I'm sure it will. It normally does.

Thanks that would be a real help. Do you have a vented nose piece? I really always wanted a vented header panel and now is the best time to get one. Thanks for the tips on the conversion. Sounds like it might be a bit much for me to go after right now.

Pm imbound.

Damn!! I hate doing that. I've done that before and while you have to accept blame, WHY THE HELL DO PEOPLE JUST STOP ONCE THEY START DRIVING??
Old people I know. It's not their fault, but very frustrating.
Good luck with the repairs John.

Sucks John, at least now insurance will pay for what you wanted.

FWIW, I have an AIR vented nose panel I got in trade for a 931 nose panel ()

Wow that sucks..... I had an accident like that too once in my 951, luckily it was just a paint scuff.

Maybe you can find a 968 tub somewhere. I'm sure somebody has a parted out one.
